Nice to know that there's other 'oldies' out there tho, that share the fond memories!

Paradise Club - was it AWOL that was down there? Went down there a few times, then recently as 'the new blue note'.

Anyone reach the original club blue note at hoxton square?Metalheadz 'Sunday sessions' Rocked. Don't think I missed a sunday down there for a few years! Small, cramped, sweaty, hot, but the atmosphere, shit, you don't get it like that anymore.

Roller Express is gotta be me fav of all time. Desire, Fivers, Tenners etc. bring those days back! The days when the DJ line-up consisted of DJ Rap, followed by DJ Vibes on the same decks, and everyone jumped on the morning bus without paying, to the horror of the innocent bus driver!

Hey, Perhaps we should get an 'oldies' forum!

25, no grey hairs yet tho. Feel kinda old when I realised that the average age in here is about 19! Damn, where did all those years go?

Soap, don't worry mate, the scene's tuff at the moment, so just enjoy it! Us oldies just love to remenisce and hold on to our youth too much. ;0)

I loved the Roller and Paradise too, but I still kind of love Camden - when it rocks there - well, it really rocks if you know what I mean. Oh now I feel all Canadian saying it rocks!!!!! (Not slating Canadians at all)).

I also loved Voodoo Magic at Equinox - we had some good old times there didn't we girlies, before all the ruudies rubbished it for everyone. D-Lo - remember our faces coming out of there - but thats just it we loved it back them and we love it now. All this has just made me think of TP's at Fabric on 22/02/02 - very exciting!!!!!!

the roller was a wicked venue.. so fukkin loud! i managed a play there at the first One Nation in '93.. I had only been mixing for about a year, and was working on RadioActive 107.8 but had never played a big rave, was absolutely shitting it! Started with the Helicopter which went down a storm and it didnt take me long to work out the darker the better.. so I bought out tracks like Information Centre and The Night Rider.. was such a buzz. The promoter showed me the studio out the back, where Pirate Club Recs came from.. apparently loads of the tunes that laid the foundations came out of that place...

how come it shut anyway? seemed like the ideal venue for a rave...

OMG. People actually remember the days. I thought I was the only one left out there.
Roller Express (91-95) and Labrynth, the very best of Hardcore Jungle and the birth of Drum&Bass (which my business revolves round now).
Damn all those memories came flooding back reading your posts....
Billy Bunter @ Labrynth, popping pills in the tunnel, with them damn white gloves and that tiny tennis ball thing on a string, freaking people out. They were the days...

Pills, pills, pills ------->
